How were those hotels selected
At Family Holiday Deals, we’ve been in the travel industry for years and know what matters most to families. We haven’t stayed at every hotel we feature; instead, we conduct extensive research to select the ones we believe are the best. We speak to families or travel professionals who have visited these places and dig into reviews, facilities, location and value to give a well-rounded picture.
About Menorca
Menorca isn’t always the easiest place to visit on a budget. Compared to its Balearic neighbours, Mallorca and Ibiza, the island has a much smaller stock of hotels, especially in the lower price brackets. There are fewer big resorts, and accommodation tends to book up quickly in peak season, which keeps prices high. That said, there are still some excellent-value hotels across the island if you know where to look.
For families, Menorca is an ideal destination. The beaches are some of the safest in the Med: shallow, gently sloping and often with calm waters, making them perfect for younger kids. Many resorts are compact and low-rise, with quieter nightlife than you'll find on the other Balearic islands, so there's less late-night noise and more of a relaxed pace.
Beyond the beach, the island has plenty to keep children and parents entertained: prehistoric ruins to explore, short scenic hikes, boat trips, small waterparks and welcoming family-run restaurants. And because it’s a smaller island, journey times are short, meaning less time in the car or bus and more time on the sand.
But without further ado, here’s our selection of the island’s best-value hotels.

Review:
Comitas Isla del Aire in Menorca is a consistently well-rated, budget-friendly hotel that works particularly well for families. It offers spacious one- and two-bedroom self-catering apartments, all with kitchenettes, balconies or patios, air-conditioning and regular cleaning.
Guests frequently highlight the value for money, saying it feels more generous than its price tag suggests. Half-board options are available at a reasonable cost and while the buffet is simple and sometimes repetitive, it's considered good for the price.
The hotel is built around a large central pool with a shallow kids’ zone, surrounded by plenty of loungers, grassy areas, a playground, table tennis and some arcade-style games. The layout is safe and relaxed, it rarely feels crowded or noisy, making it a good choice for those with younger children.
Staff are regularly praised for being friendly, helpful and multilingual. Cleanliness is another strong point, with many guests commenting on the high standards across both the apartments and shared areas.
The location is also a plus: it’s only a couple of minutes’ walk to Punta Prima beach and close to restaurants, supermarkets and the local bus stop for easy access to Mahón and other parts of the island.
Minor drawbacks include occasional reports of patchy Wi-Fi inside apartments (usually better on balconies), some insects near the pool or dining areas, and limited variety in the evening meals. However, these are small issues compared to the overall value.

Grupotel Mar de Menorca, located in Es Canutells, is popular with families looking for a budget-friendly holiday in a peaceful part of Menorca. It offers clean, spacious apartment-style rooms with kitchenettes, daily cleaning and comfortable beds. Families particularly appreciate the amount of space and the practical layout of the rooms.
The hotel has a large pool area with separate sections for adults and children, plenty of sunbeds, and extra facilities like a playground, table tennis and air hockey. There's a daily entertainment schedule that includes activities like pool aerobics, games and sports, with the entertainment team getting lots of praise from guests for their energy and friendliness, especially with kids.
The buffet restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and there’s also a snack bar. While the food is generally considered good value, it can be repetitive and not always perfect. That said, many families are happy with the variety and find the all-inclusive or half-board options convenient and cost-effective.
The hotel is a short walk from a small sandy cove and there’s a local bus stop nearby for trips into Mahón. The area itself is quiet, and while that’s ideal for a relaxing family holiday, there aren’t many restaurants or shops immediately outside the hotel.
Some common drawbacks include paying extra for fresh pool towels, some buildings without lifts (which can be a hassle with buggies or luggage), and occasional issues with cleanliness. A few guests also noted that sunbeds get reserved early in the day.
Overall, Grupotel Mar de Menorca offers great value for families. It’s not luxury, and there are a few minor inconveniences, but it consistently delivers an easy-going holiday experience at an affordable price.

Seth Port Mahón, located in a quiet area overlooking Mahón harbour, is a solid choice for families looking for a well-priced 4-star hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, with air-conditioning, minibars and balconies offering beautiful views of the harbour. Families appreciate the ample space and modern amenities.
The hotel features a large outdoor pool and a relaxing garden area, perfect for spending time as a family. Although there is no kids' club, the entertainment team ensures there’s always something to do, with activities and games for all ages. The hotel’s restaurant serves a generous buffet breakfast, with a good selection of hot and cold options. While guests generally find the food to be tasty and plentiful, a few mention that the plates can sometimes be cold and the buffet repetitive.
The location is ideal for those who want a quieter stay, yet it’s still just a 10-15 minute walk to the town centre, where you’ll find local shops, restaurants and attractions. The hotel is not right by the beach, but the views of the harbour make up for it, and the area is peaceful and scenic. For those wanting to explore further, buses to other parts of Menorca are easily accessible.
Common drawbacks include limited lift access, especially for those staying in rooms on higher floors, and the occasional air-conditioning issues, which can be a bit unreliable, especially during the warmer months. The sunbeds can be reserved early, which can limit spots by the pool.
Overall, Seth Port Mahón is a great value 4-star option for families looking for a comfortable, clean hotel with good facilities, in a peaceful yet accessible location. While it’s not luxury, it offers a solid, mid-market stay with friendly service and a relaxing atmosphere, making it a popular choice for families visiting Menorca.

The rooms are bright, clean and recently refurbished, with air-conditioning, comfortable beds and balconies or terraces. Family rooms and adjoining options make it a practical choice for those travelling with children.
The hotel offers a large main pool with sea views, plus a smaller kids’ splash area. There’s a daily activity programme with games, sports and entertainment designed for different age groups. The all-inclusive package offers good value for families, especially those staying for a week or more. While food quality is generally strong, there can be occasional crowding at peak meal times.
The hotel sits above Arenal d’en Castell beach, with access down a set of steps. The beach itself is wide and safe for swimming, though not immediately accessible for those with pushchairs or mobility concerns. A few shops and restaurants are within walking distance, and buses run regularly to other parts of the island.
Some common downsides include noise levels in the evening due to entertainment and occasional delays at reception during busy check-in or check-out periods. Some rooms lack storage space for families with lots of luggage, and sunbeds around the pool can get reserved early in the day.
Palladium Hotel Menorca is a stylish base for families wanting a mix of beach, activities and comfort. It’s not the quietest or most low-key option, but it balances modern design, good food and family-focused facilities at a fair price.
